I am sure that many of us have now seen the new catalogue from HSP (Haley Stratetic Partners) and some of the new products that they will be bringing to market over 2015? Well carrying on with my look at some of the Haley Strategic Partners gear that is currently available allow me to introduce you to the one of the models of glasses by Liquid Eyewear for HSP.
HSP offer three different models of glasses which are the Player, Gasket and Titan. All three models are available in both ‘Disruptive Grey’ and ‘Matte Black’ solid colours and have a choice of two different lenses. The frames you see pictured in this review are the ‘Gasket’ in matte black with polarised lens.
All three glasses are made in the USA for Haley Strategic by a US based company on the East Coast called ‘Liquid Eyewear’. These are not the only models that ‘Liquid Eyewear’ provides and if you visit their website you will get an understanding of what you can customise to your own personal taste, however our focus is very much on the HSP range.
The frames are powder coated and can be fitted with either a Transitional ‘Ballistic’ rated Hellfire lens or in a ‘non-ballistic’ smoke polarised lens. Both the lenses have a scratch resistant coating, something I tested out inadvertently when dropping them in a car park (no damage what so ever).
The most noticeable feature of these sunglasses is that they are ‘hinge less’ unlike so many others on the market. All three models are CNC machined from aircraft aluminium making them very lightweight, durable and strong.
You have some nice little design touches with the HSP Dragonfly on the left & right side as well as the Liquid name over the nose piece.
When I first wore these I was expecting to have a ‘getting used’ to period however these fitted perfectly the first time. The flex to fit ability contoured to my head & face beautifully providing me both comfort and protection.
Now once you have chosen your preferred frame then you need to decide on which lens. If you require a very nice pair of sunglasses to compliment your non aggressive lifestyle then I would suggest the ‘smoke polarised’ lens which provides 13% light transmission reducing the maximum amount of light without effecting colour recognition. These are ideal for when you have a high probability of glare from water, snow or windscreens (glass) etc.
However, should you lead a more aggressive lifestyle and you may find objects, debris or other such airborne eye-nastiness a problem as you like your eyes and wish to keep them in tact then go for the ‘Hellfire Transitional’ lenses which are ballistic rated. These lenses are photo-chromatic and will darken by 17% in direct sunlight and then go clear, up-to 84% at night.
Overall I am very impressed with these and they have joined my other pairs of glasses I have for various excursions either to an event, BBQ or just doing a quick run in the car. Slim, lightweight, comfortable and strong and let’s be honest, pretty slick looking.
Many thanks to Tactical Kit for allowing me to get hands or face on with these and for further information about all HSP products, please visit their website www.tactical-kit.co.uk/haley-strategic
